Partnering with NKT: Procurement opportunities

At NKT, we build transparent, ethical, and long-term partnerships with our suppliers. Our procurement process is designed to ensure fairness and compliance, foster collaboration, and advance sustainability while driving global innovation. To support these goals, we use SAP Ariba as our centralised procurement platform to streamline sourcing activities and engage suppliers across all regions.

By connecting through SAP Ariba, you will experience a clear, efficient and collaborative procurement journey with NKT.

The NKT-supplier partnership journey

To start a partnership with NKT, suppliers must complete the registration process via SAP Ariba. This ensures we have accurate and up-to-date information about each supplier’s capabilities, certifications, and service offerings.

There are two ways to get registered with NKT:

 Invited by NKT: Our team invites you to start the registration process. Follow the Supplier Registration User Guide for step-by-step instructions.
Uninvited suppliers: If you are interested in working with NKT but have not received an invitation, email your company details to: slpsupport@nkt.com and we will be in touch.

Please note the following:

The NKT procurement team may follow up for further verification.
NKT Vendor master team will contact supplier to get confirmation on banking, finance and other relevant information.

Once registered, suppliers may be required to go through a qualification process via SAP Ariba to verify financial, legal, operational, and compliance standards. This step ensures every partner aligns with NKT’s expectations for quality, safety, and sustainability.

The qualification assessments cover a range of areas, including policies, ISO certifications, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, and other compliance-related criteria to ensure alignment with NKT and global standards.

As this process is not performed frequently, we kindly request your collaboration in providing accurate and complete information. This will help us make informed decisions and build a trusted, transparent relationship with our suppliers.

When a sourcing event starts, our team issues two requests:

Request for Information (eRFI): Typically, as a precursor to an RFP. Gathers non-competitive data and assesses the qualification of participants for subsequent events.

Request for Proposal (RFP): Provides detailed insights into business needs and initiates a bidding process for price indications.

What suppliers can expect:

Invitation email: Event details and a link to the e-sourcing events.
Training email (for new suppliers): Step-by-step instructions for using SAP Ariba.

The proposals help us assess potential suppliers and ensure responses align with our requirements.

Invited suppliers will receive training materials and resources in advance so they have the system knowledge needed for participation in NKT e-sourcing events.

Contracts with our suppliers are initiated once they are awarded through the e-sourcing process. At this stage, our SAP Ariba Contract Management module ensures contracts are created, managed, and governed in a structured, compliant, and transparent manner.

Suppliers may receive documents, such as Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), contracts, or other relevant materials, from NKT for review and signature. We distribute these documents through secure, digital channels; DocuSign, email, or SAP Ariba. This ensures a transparent and traceable signing process.

If you are participating in any of these processes and require additional information, please contact your designated NKT contact for assistance.

New suppliers can transact in Ariba by registering on the SAP Business Network supplier portal, where they can access received purchase orders via the system link on the portal. From there they can acknowledge orders, fulfil deliveries, and submit invoices directly through the platform.

Process flow : Register → View PO → Confirm → Deliver → Submit Invoice → Track Payment.
