Data Privacy Statement

1. Our principles

At NKT, we prioritize the confidentiality and privacy of personal data for both our online visitors on our website and individuals visiting our physical sites. NKT is committed to following the requirements and obligations in relation to data privacy in accordance with applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation. To ensure this, we have secure and adequate data processing procedures in place.
NKT only collect personal information provided there is our legitimate interest to do so, if we have an obligation given by a contract or legislation or in case we receive a person’s consent.  
This Data Privacy Statement provides information about our policies on personal data, use, storage and disclosure in accordance with applicable law or professional standards, and applies to the following scenarios:
  • Website visits: When individuals visit and interact with our website and social media platforms, including browsing, submitting forms, signing up for newsletters or accessing information.
  • In-person visits to our sites: When individuals physically visit our premises and sites.
NKT collects information for various purposes and only retain the information for as long as necessary.

2. The collection and use of personal data

We collect and use data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
NKT collects data of customers and visitors on the legal ground of contractual obligation, legitimate interest or consent in case of marketing  and processes information as set in this Data Privacy Statement. Before collecting any personal data, we describe the purpose of collecting personal data. Collected data can contain your name, e-mail, gender, telephone number, address, username, password, IP address, image and any other information that you provide to NKT.
NKT only collects sensitive data when it is relevant for a processing purpose and it has been voluntarily provided by an individual, or where such data is relevant or provided in accordance with law or professional standards. Sensitive data includes personal information about an individual’s race, ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, sexual orientation, physical or mental health, trade union memberships or criminal records.
If the sensitive data is not required for a specific purpose, we will delete any such data immediately.
NKT uses personal data and other provided information for previously established and agreed purposes only. Personal data is collected proportionally and stored until it is necessary to use such data for a specific purpose.

3. Your rights

Correction

NKT needs to ensure that the personal data we store is correct and up-to-date. You should immediately notify NKT of any changes to your personal data or if data that we possess is inaccurate. NKT will take immediate steps to update or delete incorrect data.

Access

You may at any time request access to information on your personal data as stored by NKT. You may also request your personal data to be deleted from NKT’s systems. Following your request, NKT will  respond without delay and within one month of receipt of the request.

Revoking of consent

In cases where we require your consent to process your data, you are entitled to revoke your consent at any time.

Complaint

If you disagree with how we process your personal data you can file a privacy complaint with us as described below. Or you can lodge a complaint to the national supervisory authority.

How to exercise your rights

Regarding your personal data collected when you enter one of our sites or premises, send your request by e-mail to compliance@nkt.com or to our entity operating the site or premises. If you choose to exercise your rights, we ask you to provide sufficient information, including your country of residence, state (if applicable) and contact information. And we ask you to include the subject to which your request relates. This information will enable us to verify your identity and process your request. Depending on the type of request, we may request additional information.
If we have not met your expectations or you are not satisfied with the information provided or the way, in which your request has been dealt with, we recommend that you first contact us with your request for an inquiry.

4. Sharing and transfer of personal identifiable data

We do not share your personal data with anyone outside of NKT or with unaffiliated third persons, except for legitimate grounds or necessary to carry out your requests.
You may request NKT to transfer your personal data to other companies or third-parties. Please keep in mind that once we have transferred your personal data, NKT will not be responsible for the other companies’ privacy policies.

5. Data security and integrity

NKT ensure that data is kept and processed in a strictly confidential manner. Personal data is not sold or disclosed to third parties. NKT have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure personal data security. We do not guarantee the security of any data you transmit to us and you do so at your own risk.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics monitors the user's behavior. Below are listed the various cookies used by Google Analytics:
  • Utma: keeps track of the number of visits you make to the site (stored on your PC for 2 years).
  • Utmb and Utmc calculates how long you spend on our website in each session (Utmb is stored on your PC for 30 minutes while utmc is deleted from your PC when you leave our website).
  • Utmz sees which search engine you use and what search terms you used (stored on your PC for 6 months).
  • Tag Manager: To be able to continuously meet our customers’ needs, we use a tag manager to track the amount of pdf/document downloads on the website.

How do I delete or opt out of cookies?

You have the option to delete the cookies that are on your PC and you can choose to opt out of accepting the use of cookies in the future. You can do this by changing the settings in your browser. How to do so depends on what kind of browser you are using. that should be allowed, blocked or deleted. How to do so depends on what kind of browser you are using. 7. Subscription to our newsletter

On our website, you may subscribe to receive our newsletter. We will collect and use the email address you indicate for providing you with the newsletter.

For subscription to our newsletter we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. After you have subscribed to the newsletter on our Website, we will send a message to the indicated email address asking for confirmation. If you do not confirm your subscription, your subscription will automatically be deleted. To prevent any misuse of your personal data, we will log your subscription and confirmation, filing the IP address you use when subscribing, the time of your subscription and confirmation, the messages sent by us regarding your subscription, and the wording of your subscription and confirmation. 
You may at any time with future effect revoke your consent to receive our newsletter. To declare that you wish to unsubscribe, you may use the respective link included in all newsletters.
After you’ve unsubscribed your e-mail address will be removed from our database.

8. Use of contact forms

You can contact us directly via the contact forms available on our Website. In particular, you may provide us with the following information:

  • Contact data (e.g. e-mail address, phone number)
  • Message
  • Availability in a calendar e.g. for a training, fair

We collect, process and use the information provided by you via the contact forms exclusively for the processing of your specific request.

9. Use of SalesViewer® technology

This website uses SalesViewer® technology from SalesViewer® GmbH on the basis of the website operator’s legitimate interests (Section 6 paragraph 1 lit.f GDPR) in order to collect and save data on marketing, market research and optimisation purposes.
In order to do this, a javascript based code, which serves to capture company-related data and according website usage. The data captured using this technology are encrypted in a non-retrievable one-way function (so-called hashing). The data is immediately pseudonymised and is not used to identify website visitors personally
The data stored by Salesviewer will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for their intended purpose and there are no legal obligations to retain them.
The data recording and storage can be repealed at any time with immediate effect for the future, by clicking on https://www.salesviewer.com/opt-out in order to prevent SalesViewer® from recording your data. In this case, an opt-out cookie for this website is saved on your device. If you delete the cookies in the browser, you will need to click on this link again.

10. Use of Showpad

Our sales staff sometimes uses Showpad. It is a so-called “Sales Enablement” solution which is the process of providing businesses with the information, content, insights, analytics and tools that help marketing departments and/or sales teams to better and more to the point engage with their potential buyers throughout the entire buying process.
The Showpad service measures the engagement of each party engaging through the service, anal-yses their behaviour and profiles them, as well as measure the attractiveness of content shared with them, to the extent they are interacting with the service within the online environment of the service as hosted by Showpad for and on behalf of NKT.
The Showpad service is offered as a “Software as a Service” (“SaaS”) model, which is a software licensing and delivery model in which software is centrally hosted and made available to multiple users over a network, including through interacting products (including front-end clients, apps, Web-Interface, plugins, or Connectors to third party applications).
The Personal Data is not processed for any other purpose than allowing Showpad to take place for the benefit and under the control of NKT. Please review Showpad’s Privacy Policy for further details: www.showpad.com

11. External services or content on our Website

The Website incorporates links which allow you to connect to other websites run both by other companies within the NKT Group and by third parties. We assume no responsibility regarding the processing of personal data which may take place through and/or in connection with third-parties’ websites.
Therefore, each user who accesses such websites and/or social platforms through our website must carefully read the relevant privacy policies in order to better understand how their personal data will be processed by the third parties which, as autonomous controllers, will provide and manage such websites.

12. Data privacy on our premises and sites

Camera security

All our sites are equipped with cameras. These are needed for your safety, for the safety of our staff, and to protect our property. The legal basis for processing personal data through CCTV cameras is legitimate interest, as defined in Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The categories of personal data that may be collected through CCTV cameras include images of individuals, vehicle registration numbers, and other personal data that may be visible on the footage. Personal data collected through CCTV cameras may be disclosed to law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and other third parties as required by law.

Using our wifi network

You can use our wifi network for free when you visit any of our sites. Once you are logged on to our wifi network some data, such as the identification number of your device (IP address), is automatically collected. If any illegal activities are conducted from our wifi network we may block the access of the device by which you use our wifi network.

Reception

When you visit any of our sites we need to collect your personal data such as your name. We need this data for safety and security reasons.
