At NKT, we use SAP Ariba for all sourcing activities. It's an online tool that helps us work smoothly and clearly with suppliers around the world.
This digital approach ensures a fair, transparent, and structured process, enabling suppliers to submit their responses efficiently and with ease.
When a sourcing event starts, our team sends out:
- NKT uses a Request for Information (eRFI), typically as a precursor to an RFP, to gather non-competitive data and assess the qualification of participants for subsequent events such as an RFP and potentially an auction.
- A Request for Proposal (RFP) provides NKT with detailed insights into business needs. The central part of the RFP involves a bidding process that presents price indications.
The proposals are used to assess potential suppliers and determine the next steps in the supplier selection process. The RFP ensures that suppliers to NKT provide accurate responses aligned with the identified requirements.
- An invite to join an online auction (eAuction). Auctions are used whenever feasible to obtain the best offer for NKT, incorporating both price and non-price parameters to ensure the best overall value for the business.
To prepare suppliers for participation, invited suppliers are provided with training materials and resources to gain the necessary system knowledge in advance. This ensures they have the required understanding and basic skills to take part in NKT e-sourcing events. For any questions related to bid submission, login issues, or technical problems,
What suppliers can expect:
- An invitation email with event details and a link to access the e-sourcing events
- A training email (mainly for new suppliers) with helpful instructions to use SAP Ariba easily.
Note: If you’re not the right person to respond to our questionnaire or event, we recommend contacting us so we can help you find the appropriate person in your organization. That way, they’ll receive the link and be able to assist you.
