As one of the world's most advanced cable-laying vessels, the NKT Victoria ensures precise cable placement through cutting-edge features such as DP3 technology and remotely operated vehicles equipped with cameras and sonar.

Additionally, the NKT Victoria stands out for exceptional fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability. Certified to operate on biofuel, specifically Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), this NKT cable-laying vessel significantly reduces carbon emissions during operations.

The NKT Victoria is equipped for simultaneous laying of dual HVDC and fibre-optic cables, as well as HVAC and deep-sea installations, thanks to its high-capacity tensioning system. With two turntables boasting a combined capacity of 11,000 tons and an additional 500-ton capacity fibre-optic tank below deck, the NKT ship enables seamless operations from deep-sea to shallow shores.

The Caithness-Moray project, a £1.1bn capital investment by SSEN, focuses on a submarine cable capable of carrying up to 1,200 MW beneath the Moray Firth. This project, along with the reinforcement of the existing onshore transmission network, marks the largest investment in the north of Scotland’s electricity network since the hydro development era of the 1950s. NKT Victoria's maiden project involved the installation of the 113 km long submarine cable system for this significant undertaking.
